We are pleased to announce that the FAIR website and Monthly Headlines newsletter are now available en français.

This is a first step in our efforts to provide service to the francophone community. We also hope in future to be able to respond in French to inquiries from whistleblowers and from the media. If you are bilingual and would like to help in some way, please contact us.

David Hutton – September 15, 2011

In its 2010 Anti-Corruption Plan the G20 group committed to implementing whistleblower protection legislation by end 2012 – a strong commitment for many of the G20 members which include countries like China, Russia and Saudi Arabia, and a new opportunity to create best practice legislation in Canada.

To help ensure that this legislation reflects best practice, FAIR and eight other NGOs have joined forces to provide recommendations to the G20 Anti-Corruption Working Group.

David Hutton – July 29, 2011

Founded in 2009, the International Whistleblowing Research Network (IWRN) hosts periodic conferences that provide a unique opportunity for researchers in this field to meet, compare notes and learn from colleagues around the world.

The network’s third conference was held in June at Middlesex University in North London, hosted by Professor David Lewis. Thanks to the generosity of FAIR’s supporters and the conference organizers I was able to attend this year, to bring a Canadian perspective, to build invaluable contacts with colleagues abroad, and above all to learn.

On today's episide of CBC's Power and Politics, the FAIR website was featured and described as "the most dangerous in Ottawa".

Two well-known bloggers, David Eaves and Kady O'Malley, discuss the plight of whistleblowers with host Evan Solomon and how these stories are often overlooked by the mainstream media, leaving it to bloggers and sites like FAIR to give them prominence.

David Eaves – January 27, 2010

What is the more dangerous website in Ottawa? Here's a secret. It isn't a x-rated site, or loaded with tips and tricks on how to make weapons or break the law. It isn't - contrary to what some politician might feel - even a news website.

No, the most dangerous website in Ottawa is much, much, more boring than that. The most dangerous website is actually a small site run by the Federal Accountability Initiative for Reform or FAIR (see you are yawning already).
