FAIR Gears Up For The Coming Year

Topics:

New Staff

FAIR welcomes two new additions to our staff: Stephanie Della Porta and Jade Kemp, third-year students in the Carleton University Criminology and Criminal Justice program.  See bios... Stephanie and Jade will be working on some exciting projects during the year ahead. We are delighted to have them aboard.

New Website

Visitors to our website during the summer saw some major changes. A brand new site, powered by sophisticated technology, supports a host of interactive features such as blogs, surveys and polls, and the ability to add comments to articles.

Since the new site went live visitors are spending on average twice as much time on the site. Why? Because it's so easy to see what's available and to explore topics that interest you.

New Projects

We have chosen a small number of projects as our top priorities for the coming year. Two are already well under way:

Extending our legal analysis to the provinces and the private sector

FAIR's in-depth analysis of the PSDPA (Canada's federal whistleblower law) was published before the law came into force, and remains the most comprehensive explanation available of the Act and its shortcomings. We are now working to extend our analysis to the provinces and the private sector. See project description here...

Further development of the website

We will be exploiting the new interactive capabilities to add more content, more frequently, with more contributors. The changes presently visible are just the start.
